Editing Workshop with Yann Dedet

French film editor Yann Dedet, who has worked with directors including François Truffaut, Philippe Garrel and Maurice Pialat, held classes as part of the International Studies: Expression in Cinematic Arts course. On September 4 (Mon) he lectured on editing for the entire Department of Film Production, and he held an editing workshop for students in the Editing Course from September 5 (Tues) to September 12 (Tues). In the workshop students edited footage from two films provided by Dedet and learned about the profound relationship between images and audio through detailed work on the environmental sound during the editing process. The workshop gave the students a precious opportunity to achieve a higher level of precision in their editing under Dedet’s guidance.
